In this week’s edition: Luz Medicine schedule update, community resources, simple nutrition tips, and welcoming new patients with a referral perk for you and them!

What Does “Luz” Mean?

Our name, Luz (pronounced “looz”), means light – and that meaning is at the heart of the care we provide. Our goal is to help bring clarity to your health concerns by giving you the time and space to be heard, ask questions, and bring your whole self to the conversation. We combine thoughtful listening with medical expertise and a thorough approach to help uncover what may be going on and find solutions that make sense for you. Sometimes, a little more light can make the path forward feel much clearer.

Two Locations, More Options!

As we’re growing, we are excited to offer MORE options to current patients!  We now have a fully operational lab at BOTH offices.  You can have your blood drawn at Luz Medicine in Ephrata or Manheim Township.  Self scheduling is available through Elation for both locations, or you can always text/call the office during business hours (M-F 8a-4p) for any help with scheduling!

Starting September 23, Dr. Miller will be seeing patients at the Manheim Township location on Wednesdays and will continue seeing patients at the Ephrata location on Fridays.

Amber Leed, CRNP will be at the Manheim Township location, while Stephanie Wile, CRNP and Rebecca Smith, CRNP will be at the Ephrata location.

Same team, same personalized care – just a small shift in where you can find everyone throughout the week.

Keep Food Simple

Healthy eating doesn’t have to mean following a complicated diet or obsessing over every ingredient.

A good place to start is with whole foods – foods that look pretty similar to how they started. Fruits, vegetables, meats, eggs, beans, nuts, seeds, and other simple ingredients can make up the foundation of your meals.

At your next meal, look for one simple way to add more whole foods. A simple rule of thumb: whole foods are healthy foods!

Community Spotlight

This week, we’re highlighting Morning Star Counseling, a local therapy practice serving children, teens, adults, couples, and families. With convenient locations in Lancaster County in Quarryville and Greenfield Road, as well as virtual therapy options, Morning Star offers a wide range of counseling services and supportive resources.

They have two upcoming group opportunities that may be helpful for members of our community. Their DBT Skills Group, open to ages 16 and up, focuses on mindfulness, distress tolerance, communication strategies, and emotional regulation. The group meets Wednesdays from 6-8 PM, September 16 through November 18, and costs $40 per session.

Morning Star is also offering Loving Your Embodied Self, a free counseling group for women ages 16 and up focused on healing from negative body image, diet culture, disordered eating, and more. This group meets Mondays from 6:30-8 PM, September 21 through November 23.

Both groups are held at 1869 Charter Lane, Suite 200, Lancaster, PA. For more information, contact Morning Star.

Refer a Friend & You Both Save $50

Know someone who’s been looking for a different kind of healthcare experience? Share Luz Medicine with them this September. When a new member joins using the referral code “refer50” they’ll receive $50 off – and you’ll receive $50 off too.  New patients simply let us know who referred them when they sign up to Luz and we’ve got you both covered!

Good health doesn’t always come from doing more. Sometimes it’s about getting back to the basics – nourishing food, a care team that knows you, and having the right support in your corner.

We’re glad to be part of yours.

In Health,

Your Luz Medicine Team

You're Right on Time At Luz Medicine, we often remind our patients of a simple truth: You’re right on time. In a world that celebrates quick fixes and overnight transformations, it’s easy to feel discouraged when progress takes longer than expected. Many of us have started healthy habits only to fall away from them, or set goals that didn’t unfold exactly as planned. When that happens, we can b...
