In this week's edition: Luz Medicine's simple approach to care, celebrating good doctoring in our community, referral savings for new and current patients, and an easy nutrition tip you can use everyday.

Simple in Theory. Rare in Practice.

What we do at Luz Medicine isn’t rocket science. The vision is actually pretty simple – but the kind of care we provide can be surprisingly hard to find.

We listen to our patients. We take the time to understand what folks bring to us, we ask questions, evaluate the cause of symptoms, and work together towards health and healing.

There’s no unnecessary red tape and no rushing through appointments just to move on to the next patient. You have the time to talk, ask questions, and be heard.

Good healthcare doesn’t need to be complicated. Sometimes it starts with something as simple as having a medical team who truly listens.

Refer a Friend & You Both Save $50

With the exception of our opening month, since opening Luz Medicine in 2020, we haven’t offered discounts on membership – so this one is a little special.

Now through September 30, use referral code "refer50" for $50 off your current patient membership fee and also $50 off for a friend who signs up. When a friend you refer to Luz joins the office and lets us know your name, we will give you both $50 off as a thank you for the referral! We text all those who sign up with additional details on joining the office. They can text us back when they get our welcome text and share your name for $50 off for you both!

It’s our way of saying thank you for sharing Luz Medicine with the people you care about. This is a limited-time offer, so if someone has been on your mind, now is a great time to send them our way.

Simple Steps for Better Health

Healthy living doesn’t have to mean following a perfect diet or cutting out the foods you enjoy. One simple habit we encourage is making sure protein and produce are part of every meal (and every snack, if you take snacks).

We talked briefly about hydration before, and taking protein and produce every time you eat is another foundational piece that can make a big difference. Protein helps support muscles, energy, and fullness, while fruits and vegetables provide the vitamins, minerals, additional hydration, and fiber your body needs.

No food has to be completely off limits. Instead of focusing on restriction, think about what you can add to your plate.

A simple question to ask at mealtime is:

Where’s my protein? Where’s my produce?

Build around those two things, enjoy the rest of your meal, and you're on your way!

Community Spotlight

Your health journey doesn't always begin and end inside the walls of Luz Medicine. Sometimes you need a trusted specialist, and we want to help connect you with providers in our community who share our commitment to thoughtful, patient-centered care.

This week, we're highlighting Lancaster Plastic Surgery Associates and Dr. Tobias Long, plastic surgeon and founder of LPSA.

Last week, Dr. Miller hosted a physician mixer at our Manheim Township office and had the opportunity to connect with incredible physicians from across the region. One thing that stood out about Dr. Long was his commitment to doing what is right for the patient, every time.

With extensive experience in plastic and reconstructive surgery, Dr. Long takes a practical, patient-first approach. When something can safely be handled in the office, he is happy to do so rather than automatically turning to a more involved procedure -  helping patients avoid unnecessary costs, general anesthesia, and hospital-based surgical fees when appropriate.

That kind of thoughtful care is exactly why we're excited to feature him in this week's Community Spotlight.

At Luz Medicine, we believe good healthcare can be simple: thoughtful conversations, practical guidance, and care that is personal. From the way we listen to our patients to the small, sustainable habits we encourage, our goal is to make taking care of your health feel a little less complicated. Thank you for being part of the Luz Medicine community and for trusting us to be part of your care.

You're Right on Time At Luz Medicine, we often remind our patients of a simple truth: You’re right on time. In a world that celebrates quick fixes and overnight transformations, it’s easy to feel discouraged when progress takes longer than expected. Many of us have started healthy habits only to fall away from them, or set goals that didn’t unfold exactly as planned. When that happens, we can b...
